This policy explains what happens to your data when you use editonline.in. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate, because the most important fact about this site is genuinely simple: the files you process with our tools are never uploaded to our servers.
Every file tool on this site — merging PDFs, compressing images, converting formats, cropping photos, and so on — runs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you select or drop a file into one of our tools, it is read directly into your browser's memory using standard browser APIs. It is never sent over the network to us or to any third party. The processing happens using code that your browser downloaded once, running on your own device's processing power.
You can independently verify this by opening your browser's developer tools and watching the network activity while you use any of our converters — you will see our page's scripts load once, and no further data leaves your device while you work with your files.
While your files themselves are never transmitted to us, like most websites we do collect limited technical information for the purpose of operating and improving the site:
None of this collected information includes the content of files you process using our tools, since that content never reaches our servers in the first place.
Tools like the age calculator, percentage calculator, EMI calculator, word counter, and AI prompt generator work the same way — all calculations happen in your browser using the values you type in. Nothing you enter into these tools is transmitted to us.
The Sunrise & Sunset tool can optionally use your device's location, which your browser will explicitly ask permission for. If you grant permission, your coordinates are used locally to calculate sun times and are not sent to our servers. You can also enter coordinates manually instead of sharing your location, or decline the permission request entirely.
Our tools use open-source libraries (such as pdf-lib, pdf.js, and others) loaded from public content delivery networks to perform document and image processing. These libraries run locally in your browser alongside our own code and do not transmit your file contents anywhere.
We may use cookies for basic site functionality and, if applicable, for analytics and advertising as described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time; doing so will not affect your ability to use our file-processing tools, since they do not depend on cookies to function.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
